My Story
When I arrived in London in the early 90s, I would have never imagined I would take roots in the Lake District. This is my story in a nutshell.
From a small town in south-east France to Penrith in north-west England
I was brought up in Provence. Being in the outdoors was a big part of my childhood. I would spend every summer in holiday camps and on family wild camping trips in the Alps and the Pyrenees. At the age of 18, I qualified as a Holiday Camp Leader and developed an interest in organising trips and activities in the outdoors.
After graduating in Business Studies in the tourism industry, I decided to move to London to improve my English and start my career. For 6 years I worked for various tour operators creating tailor-made holidays to UK, France and Scandinavia. I spent the next 8 years in Buenos Aires and Toronto raising a family, working and continuing to travel and discover new places before returning home to London.
For the following 15 years, I worked in schools as a volunteer (four years as Chair and Treasurer of the Parent Teacher Association), a Fundraiser, a Business Development and Project Manager. I also qualified as a Forest School Leader and ran outdoor learning classes for primary school-aged children. In 2017, I started my Mountain Leader qualification journey.
In 2020, after being made redundant during the pandemic, I decided that this was the moment to make a career change and reconnect with the outdoors. I moved to Penrith in the Lake District to open my Bed and Breakfast, an old dream of mine. After a 6-month trial period, I decided to create my company and expand the service offer with walking holidays in the Tunisian Sahara which I had been organising for a while. Mountain and desert, two very different experiences to reconnect with nature in its various form. In April 2023, North View Adventure Ltd was born!
The outdoors is my second home. It is where I find inspiration and beauty, where I feel alive and find solace when facing life challenges. Being able to share my passion for the outdoors with you on the North View Adventure journey is very exciting and I hope you’ll join us.
